Coaching and Mentoring for Universal Design for Learning (6 hours)

Tuesday, May 30, 2023, and Wednesday, May 31, 2023 -- 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm

This course is designed for coaches, mentors, and teacher leaders that are supporting job embedded professional development in their schools/districts. Participants commit to exploring and filling in their own gaps in skill, knowledge, capacity, will, cultural competence, and emotional intelligence. Coaching is a holistic process, which examines our behaviors, beliefs, and ways of being, both as coaches and the colleagues/learners we work with. Learning is a basic need, and every child can learn. So can every adult. Educators exist to serve students, and should be expected to demonstrate skill, knowledge, self-awareness, and resilience. Coaches and mentors exist to help build these internal resources. When external resources are low, we help educators call upon the internal resources of creativity, will, commitment, perseverance, compassion, patience, and courage. This is NOT a foundational course.
